The Senior Drama Company and Junior Drama Ensemble are formed each year to provide additional performance opportunities for gifted and talented drama students. Students must audition for both Senior Drama Company and Junior Drama Ensemble for the roles of performers or technical crew each year. One of the key roles is to offer students real experience of the collaboration and the vital work that ensembles and teams perform to realise a successful production.

Year 7 and 8: Basic skills development, transformational acting and short script work

The design of the year 7 and 8 extra-curricular group is based on the concept of transformational acting. It challenges students to think imaginatively about how they can create new worlds, characters and mood without relying on overly complex setting, props or costumes. The students will work with short scripts and script excerpts and will learn how to bring those scripts to life by transforming themselves and their space into the characters and worlds of the play.

Year 9 and 10: Theatresports

This course is designed to teach students the necessary skills and knowledge to be involved in this world-wide theatre practice. The students will focus on developing improvisation skills which help develop creative problem solving and spontaneity. They will learn a variety of Theatresports games that they will participate in and have the opportunity to compete against each other in a supportive environment. From this group, students have the opportunity to be selected for representative teams that will compete in external Theatresports competitions.
